The NFC matchups are some of the best I can remember in recent history. This will be an exciting weekend for football fans. Here are my predictions for the NFC games.
Dallas Cowboys versus Minnesota Vikings
Winner: Vikings
This game has all the makings of the biggest and baddest showdown this season. On one hand, we’ve got Wisconsin native Tony Romo playing against the guy he grew up watching on TV, Brett Favre. We’ve got a red hot Cowboys team who have silenced critics by regaining their postseason mojo. Finally, we’ve got Favre getting ever closer to his goal of winning a Super Bowl title.
Despite the drama of the quarterback match up, it’s the defense that will rule the day here. Wade Phillips has been able to hold on to his job by showing his defensive prowess of late, but it won’t be enough to silence Favre and his arsenal of offensive weapons. As if that weren’t enough, the Vikings defense will make Romo look like he’s still crying over his breakup with Jessica Simpson. Vikings will pull ahead in the second quarter and keep pounding on the points.
Arizona Cardinals versus New Orleans Saints
Winner: Saints
I think Kurt Warner is the one of the best quarterbacks in history, but even with him I don’t think the Cardinals can beat the Saints right now. Sure, sure, I know what you’re saying. The Saints might have dropped a few at the end of the season, but they’ll put it all behind them as they pull ahead in the fourth quarter to win. Even if the Cardinals’ Anquan Boldin is healthy enough to play, it won’t be enough to pull out a victory. Expect this one to be a big scorer, much the same as the Cardinal/Packer game was last week.
