Finnish superstar, Teemu Selanne, has been gearing up for his second appearance at the Winter Olympics but, unfortunately, he has been sidelined with two fractured bones in his jaw.

The Anaheim Ducks sniper had surgery yesterday to repair the injury but it will take two to six weeks for him to recuperate. Since he’s a little older, I would say that it will probably be closer to the six week mark which makes me doubt that he will be fit for the Olympics. Of course, he is an athlete and he’s in pretty great shape so you never know.
Selanne got hurt when a deflected puck hit him in the face. He was just in his third game back on the ice after missing 17 contests due to a broken hand.
