Devils Even Series
The New Jersey Devils beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-3 on Friday night to even their first round Eastern Conference series at a game a piece. Dainius Zubrus scored off his own rebuond with four minutes left in the game to seal the victory.
Zach Parise, Colin White, Andy Greene and Ilya Kovalchuk also scored for the Devils and Martin Brodeur stopped 26 shots. With the series tied, the Flyers will now head home for Games 3 and 4 on Sunday and Tuesday respectively.
Crosby Saves Penguins
In Game 2 between the Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins, it was all about Sidney Crosby. In a critical play with the contest tied 1-1 in the final period, Crosby slid behind his goalie to poke the puck away, saving the goal. Anton Volchenkov’s shot was just inches from the goal line. And then late in third period, after skating back and forth and dancing around behind Senators goalie Brian Elliott, he found Kris Letang up top, who scored the winning goal.
