It was a crazy exciting gold medal game for men’s hockey fans at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games today. Team Canada took on Team USA and the first half of the game really seemed to be in favor of the host country but then the Americans came roaring back.
With less than 30 seconds left, Zach Parise scored for USA and tied the game. It was crazy. Can you imagine going to sudden death in an Olympic game? It was amazing and horrifying at the same time.
In overtime, Sidney Crosby rushed the net and took a shot and managed to grab the rebound. He yelled out “Iggy” to teammate Jarome Iginla, passed it and moved closer to the net. Iginla made a heroic leap and passed it back to Crosby who swiftly put the puck behind American goaltender, Ryan Miller. It was incredible.
Honestly, are you surprised at all that it came down to a goal scored by Sidney Crosby? I’m not even though even he seemed a little stunned if you look at the picture below.
