After nine awesome seasons with the San Diego Chargers, LaDainian Tomlinson is now history. He was released today by the team. Chargers CEO Dean Spanos sat down with LT to tell him the bad news. According to YardBarker.com, Spanos said telling LT the news was “by far the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to do as an owner.”

In the NFL, however, records are only important when they are fresh. Despite that Tomlinson “ranks third all-time in the NFL with 153 touchdowns and eighth with 12,490 rushing yards” he last had an outstanding season in 2006. That’s too long by NFL standards.

Tomlinson is determined to play again for another team. At 30, he’s got the right amount of experience and youth to come back hard and improve a struggling team. Tomlinson said he definitely wants to win a Super Bowl, and would like to come back with a team that has a great quarterback in place. Hello, Lions, think you could use a little LT to go with your Stafford?
